Through our events, we seek to bring together students, experts, and other members of the Montreal community to discuss the potential of social business & enterprise.
Social Business Summit
On November 16, 2017, from 6-8:30 PM, join MyVision McGill at Maison Notman House for a chance to learn more about social business from social leaders in the field.
Every year, MyVision McGill hosts the Social Business Summit to bring together students, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and more to discuss innovations and opportunities in the social business world. This year, our theme is "Carving A New Path: Your Future in Social Innovation," with the goal to empower attendees by demonstrating the various ways they can get involved in social business.
The workshop is centered around “Systems” and being able to apply this concept to various problems. Attendees will be broken up into groups and given a problem in which they will have to come up with a solution that incorporates social innovation.
Finally, the evening will finish off with a networking/ cocktail session where attendees can converse with the speakers and one another. The Summit is open to EVERYONE, not just McGill students!
Tickets are $5 for MyVision members and $10 for non-members. Refreshments and food will be served. Dresscode is business casual. See you there!

Our biggest annual event is the Social Business Summit, which was most recently co-hosted by MyVision McGill and Enactus McGill on November 18th, 2016. The summit included various keynote speakers, workshops, and opportunities to network with social business leaders. In the past we have featured speakers such as Richard St. Pierre and Alain-Olivier Desbois.
Last year we had the pleasure of having Jonathan Glencross from Purpose Capital and Jennifer Lonergan from Artistri Sud, as well as a panel of young social entrepreneurs. Furthermore, this was the first year we had Enactus hold a workshop as part of the conference. The workshop taught participants how to apply social business concepts to different business models while encouraging creative problem solving. At the end of the conference, the MyVision x Enactus Challenge was held. This gave social entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch their social business ideas in a competition for a $500 prize.
Finally, the conference wrapped up with a networking cocktail which allowed our participants to not only network with our guest speakers but with each other as they reflected on the conference and shared their social business ideas. The Social Business Summit is not only a great opportunity to learn about social business but also provides resources to those attending to become better social entrepreneurs and leaders.
